Driven by a passion for Indigenous Affairs and a curiosity about government processes, Tayla-Jayde applied for the NIAA Graduate Program, determined to make a meaningful impact.
“I was never fully aware of the scope and scale of the work that happens in government, particularly in this agency where the roles offer so much opportunity for meaningful impact.”
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) has people from diverse academic, professional and personal backgrounds all dedicated to a common goal of working in partnership with First Nations people. Throughout the program, Tayla-Jayde worked on projects with tangible outcomes and met many dedicated individuals who invested in her development and success, making her experience truly enriching.
"I’ve learned so much as an NIAA graduate - I don’t think I’ve had this privilege before and it’s not something I’ve taken for granted.”
With hands-on projects in Indigenous communities, the award-winning cross-cultural Footprints Program, individualised pastoral care and mentoring program, NIAA graduates gain vital knowledge to make a real difference.
